Position Summary:

Arlo is seeking a strategic and hands-on HR Director to oversee our Human Resources and Recruiting departments. This role is critical in ensuring our HR and talent acquisition functions align with business objectives, compliance requirements, and company culture.

Location: Washington, D.C. / HYBRID - 1 day per week with onsite requirements (local to DMV region)

Key Responsibilities:

Human Resources Management

1. Lead and oversee HR operations, ensuring alignment with company goals and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
2. Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
3. Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and best practices to support a high-performing and compliant workforce.
4. Oversee career path development, training programs, and employee development initiatives.
5. Collaborate with leadership to enhance company culture and drive employee engagement.
6. Ensure HR records, processes, and systems are maintained and optimized, including our HRIS (ADP TotalSource).
7. Oversee the Recruiting team in partnership with the Director of Talent Acquisition and Recruiting to ensure timely and efficient hiring processes.
8. Ensure recruiting efforts align with company workforce planning and contract staffing needs.
9. Partner with the Director of Talent Acquisition and Recruiting to develop sourcing strategies, improve recruitment KPIs, and drive hiring initiatives.
10. Maintain compliance with government contract recruiting requirements, including AAP and OFCCP guidelines.

Compliance & Risk Management

1. Ensure compliance with employment laws and government contracting regulations, including EEO, OFCCP, and labor law requirements.
2. Lead internal audits and reporting related to HR compliance, employee data, and regulatory filings.
3. Stay current with changes in HR policies, labor laws, and government contracting regulations, advising leadership on potential impacts.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership roles.
3. Strong knowledge of HR compliance in government contracting environments (EEO, OFCCP, AAP, FAR, DCAA, etc.).
4. Experience in employee relations, performance management, training, and organizational development.
5. Proven ability to manage HR and recruiting functions, including leading teams in a growing organization.
6. Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
7. Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
8. Must be able to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating resilience and adaptability in changing conditions.
9. Must be able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
10. Proficiency in HRIS systems, preferably ADP Workforce Now.

Desired Skills and Experience:

1. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR/SPHR certification.
2. Experience in government contracting, particularly managing HR for employees working on federal contracts.
3. Experience with Deltek CostPoint and compliance tracking for government contracts.
