Job Description

Our client, a Japanese print/digital media is looking for a Media Researcher.

Position: Media Researcher

Industry: News Media

Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid)

Salary: 55-65k + Benefits package

Responsibilities

Conduct research, fact-checking, and follow-up on news topics relevant to the bureau’s reporting.
Analyze current events and key figures based on the needs of the bureau chief and correspondents.
Build and maintain relationships with policymakers, officials, and experts.
Assist in arranging and securing exclusive interviews with key individuals.
Stay updated on U.S. political, economic, social, and cultural developments.
Schedule and organize interviews; collect and manage related data.
Identify potential interviewees, conduct preliminary interviews, and report findings.
Gather and organize information from various media sources.
Act as liaison with external organizations and arrange media access.
Collaborate with correspondents to strengthen overall content quality.
Perform additional tasks to support the Washington bureau’s operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education / or experience in a related field
Strong sense of journalistic integrity and professionalism
Proficiency in English and Japanese
Solid knowledge of and keen interest in American affairs
