This is subject to change based on amendments and/or modifications to the ACG Flex Work policy.Position Description:This position is currently able to work remotely from a home office location for day-to-day operations, traveling to field locations as necessary to complete job responsibilities, unless occasional travel for meetings, collaborative activities, or team building activities is specified by leadership. Work under minimal supervision with a high-level approval authority to handle complex technical issues and complex claims. Claim handling responsibilities include reviewing assigned claims, contacting insured and other parties, setting expectations for claim process, initiating documentation in claim system, completing complex coverage analysis, ensuring all policyholder benefits are identified, creating sub-claims if needed, investigating facts to determine claim payment, limits, exclusions, and recovery potential. Conduct thorough damage reviews, evaluate financial loss value, approve payments, refer claims to other units as necessary, document and code claim files, complete claim closure activities, and utilize strong negotiating skills.Employees in Auto Physical Damage claim unit handle complex claims involving total losses, vehicle inspections, damage estimates, manage Direct Repair Shops for compliance, determine cause of damage, establish liability, identify subrogation potential, monitor repairs, approve car rental expenses, oversee litigation cases, manage litigation process including attorney and budget management, participate in mediation, determine settlement positions, assist Claim Manager with file reviews and training.Required Qualifications:Complete ACG Claim Representative Training Program or equivalent knowledge/experience. Eligible to acquire State Adjuster’s license within 90 days of hire where required. Valid State Driver's License. Three years experience or equivalent training in negotiation of claim settlements, securing and evaluating evidence, preparing estimates, subrogation claims, resolving coverage questions, taking statements, establishing evaluation and resolution plans. Advanced knowledge of Essential Insurance Act (Michigan), Fair Trade Practices Act, subrogation procedures, intercompany arbitration, simple litigation, Negligence Law, No-Fault Law, collision repair techniques. Ability to handle claims to standards, follow policies, work with claim systems and PC software, perform claim file reviews, demonstrate communication and customer service skills, analyze and solve problems, prioritize functions, process time sensitive data, manage time and workload, safely operate motor vehicle for inspections, research subrogation laws, travel outside territory including overnight stays, relocate, work evenings or weekends.Preferred Qualifications:Associate degree in Business Administration, Insurance or related field or equivalent experience. Completion of Insurance Institute of America programs or equivalent. CPCU coursework or designation. I-Car ProLevel, CCC, Xactware training.Work Environment:May work in office or remote setting. Travel to repair facilities, homes, hospitals, attorneys, rehabilitation centers as needed with exposure to road hazards and temperature extremes.
