We are seeking a detail oriented and experienced Healthcare Data Analyst to join our Clinical Analytics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting advanced analyses of healthcare claims and program data to evaluate and project program performance, generate insights into cost savings and effectiveness, and support internal and external reporting efforts.

This role involves heavy use of SQL for data extraction and transformation, data analysis, and QA of healthcare claims data. Use of statistical software such as R or Python will also be required for outcomes analysis. This role will collaborate with stakeholders to develop and maintain robust reporting solutions to track progress towards KPIs. Familiarity with BI tools like SSRS or Power BI and data visualization experience a plus. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in healthcare analytics, technical proficiency, and a passion for improving healthcare programs through data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze healthcare claims and program data to measure program performance, cost savings, utilization trends, and outcomes.
  • Perform Quality Assurance checks on large claims datasets to identify anomalies, ensure data integrity, and validate assumptions.
  • Develop and maintain automated and ad hoc reports and dashboards using tools like SSRS or Power BI.
  • Support internal teams and clients with clear, insightful reporting and data storytelling.
  • Use SQL extensively to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from claims and program datasets.
  • Apply R or Python as needed for statistical analysis.
  • Document analytic methodologies, QA procedures, and reporting logic for transparency and reproducibility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Health Informatics, Statistics, Economics, Public Health, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience working with healthcare claims data (e.g., medical, pharmacy, eligibility).
  • Advanced SQL skills with the ability to write complex queries for data extraction and transformation.
  • Experience in data validation, QA, and testing processes for large datasets.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare reimbursement and coding systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivation for success in a fast-paced, dynamic and unstructured environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., SSRS, Power BI) for reporting and visualization.
  • Proficiency in R or Python for data analysis and scripting.
  • Experience working with healthcare program evaluation or population health analytics.
  • Familiarity with shared decision making and care management programs.
