Home Health Director of Nursing (DON)

Our client is a locally owned, Medicare-certified home health agency that also accepts managed care and commercial insurance. They are committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and are seeking a dynamic clinical leader to oversee a growing census currently at 100 patients.

Salary and Benefits

• Salary range: $85,000 – $100,000 annually (based on experience)
• Performance-based bonus potential
• 4 weeks Paid Time Off (PTO)
• 7 Paid Holidays
• $1,000 Continuing Education (CEU) stipend annually
• Health Insurance stipend covering up to 50% of the premium
• Vision and dental insurance available (employee-paid)
• No current retirement plan or sign-on bonus

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all clinical operations, including nursing and therapy services
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and accrediting agency standards (CMS, AHCA, CHAP)
• Manage and support RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and therapy staff
• Conduct staff hiring, onboarding, education, and performance evaluations
• Monitor and improve quality assurance, clinical outcomes, and OASIS accuracy
• Coordinate and oversee patient admissions, discharges, and care transitions
• Perform monthly supervisory visits (minimal field presence otherwise)
• Utilize Kinnser (WellSky) EMR for documentation
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary team members
• Participate in leadership meetings and strategic planning for agency growth
• Report directly to the CEO

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in home health (Medicare-certified agency preferred)
• 1–2 years of supervisory experience in roles such as DON, ADON, or Clinical Supervisor
• Strong understanding of OASIS, PDGM, and home health regulations
• EMR proficiency (Kinnser/WellSky preferred)
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• New graduates will not be considered
• Visa sponsorship is not available
