Job Title: Production Supervisor

Location: Michigan

Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor will oversee daily manufacturing operations within the core production area. The ideal candidate will ensure that production schedules are met while maintaining safety, quality, cost, and delivery goals. This role demands strong leadership, team collaboration, and a continuous improvement mindset, incorporating Lean Manufacturing , 5S , and Kaizen methodologies to drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of production team members to meet daily, weekly, and monthly production goals.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and quality standards.
• Monitor and manage production processes to ensure optimal efficiency, minimizing downtime and scrap.
• Drive and sustain Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including value stream mapping , standard work , and workflow optimization .
• Implement and maintain 5S workplace organization practices to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient production environment.
• Lead and participate in Kaizen events to identify and eliminate waste, streamline processes, and improve productivity.
• Train, coach, and develop team members, promoting cross-functional skills and continuous improvement culture.
• Analyze production metrics and provide regular performance reports to management.
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and quality teams to resolve process and equipment issues.
• Manage shift schedules, timekeeping, and labor allocation to meet production targets.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience considered.
• 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing supervisory role.
• Proven experience implementing Lean , 5S , and Kaizen principles on the production floor.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to analyze production data and drive continuous improvement.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing software tools.
• Knowledge of OSHA and other safety regulations.
